DBA the Barge Association is a 'not-for-profit' limited company run by volunteers and open to everybody, with or without a boat or barge, who is or would like to be living in, cruising in, converting, or just relaxing aboard.

If you are not a DBA member you can join on-line.

Anyone can use the DBA online shop to purchase barge and inland navigation related material.

You can advertise on our pages using Google. Only DBA members do not get shown any adverts.

Zuiderzee

For century those lakes we now call Markermeer and Ijsselmeer existed as open sea called Zuiderzee (South Sea) that was in communication with the North Sea through the Waddenzee.

Nowadays it's only part of the memories and its name is usually found in historical publications only. Most historical Dutch barges have experienced its sudden changes of mood.
