If you are not a DBA member you can join on-line. Anyone can use the DBA online shop to purchase barge and inland navigation related material. You can advertise on our pages using Google. A stempost is a bar in the outmost part of the bow. Dutch naming convention Ships having round stemposts (such as tjalks) are generally called kromstevens, while those having a straight stempost are called steilstevens. The latter also refers to an aak having a motorboat (Luxemotor like) bow and has become a barge type on its own. |
