DBA the Barge Association is a 'not-for-profit' limited company run by volunteers and open to everybody, with or without a boat or barge, who is or would like to be living in, cruising in, converting, or just relaxing aboard.

If you are not a DBA member you can join on-line.

Anyone can use the DBA online shop to purchase barge and inland navigation related material.

You can advertise on our pages using Google. Only DBA members do not get shown any adverts.

Canal de Roanne

This canal follows the upper Loire, from Digoin to Roanne.

In Digoin the Canal lateral a la Loire and the Canal de Roanne join with the Canal du Centre.

The Canal lateral a la Loire takes you north to Decize (with a possible deviation on the Canal du Nivernais to the Yonne in Auxerre) and Briare, where the Canal de Briare takes you north to Montargis and then to the Seine via the Canal de Loing.
The Canal du Centre takes you to Chalon-sur-Saône and joins the system with the Rhône/Saône system.
